Q. We are traveling from North Carolina and we are looking for the closest, cheapest beach to go to; preferably with the white sandy beaches and the ultra clear blue water : ) any help is greatly appreciated : )

A. The panhandle coast, up in Pensacola and Panama City is generally the most affordable area of the state in terms of lodging costs. Avoid Miami Beach, Fort Lauderdale, Fort Myers and the Venice / Marco Island area ... these are generally expensive areas in terms of the average hotel room cost. Pensacola hotels: Panama City hotels: Most prices range from $95 - $105 + a night in those areas.
